On the 28th of September, Advocate Peyman Erginel, the Legal Advisor of the British Residents Society (BRS), delivered a presentation on the recent Amendment Law concerning the acquisition of immovable property by foreign nationals, which was passed on the 21st of May 2024.
During the presentation, Advocate Peyman Erginel summarised the key changes introduced by the Amendment Law and offered practical advice for purchasers who acquired property before the law came into effect, explaining how they can meet the new requirements and secure their properties.
The second part of the presentation focused on the residence permit procedure in Northern Cyprus. Liliia Trushko one of lawyers at Erginel Law Firm provided an overview of the current requirements and explained the most common mistakes that lead to the rejection of residence permit applications.
At the end of the presentation, BRS members had the opportunity to ask questions regarding property transactions as well as the residence permit process.
Erginel Law Firm extends its gratitude to the British Residents’ Society – Official for organising the event and providing the opportunity to clarify these important and highly discussed topics for its members.
